Was using dialup first, then their microwave 3M/1M broadband, now their then fiber-optic broadband, Never had a problem with them since my they sent me my first Netscape dialup Floppies on Win98... I use Ubuntu Linux only, and what's even better is that I never hear "Ooh you aren't using Window$, danger, warning..." from them. Also using OOMA broadband VIOP and that's been flawless so far, too.
But after they wired this town for fiber-optic, they jacked up the rates. I was paying $19.95 a month for Microwave 3M/1M - now get 3M/760K Fiber for $59.95!
Sorry PSCI, I switched to Verizon (Frontier Communications). About $20 a month bucks for DSL at rock solid 3M/760K

I have a 768Kbps down and 210Kbps Upload. I also recieved a free Speedstream 5260 modem for signing a contract. They offer spamguard through the email and have a virus scanner to help protect our email.

Installation: I had concerns with their experience with Windows ME but they assured me they could handle it. There was a choice of a modem connecting to my USB port or one connecting through the ethernet card. I got some conflicting advice depending on who I talked to and chose the Efficient 4060, which worked but conflicted with WinME shutting down properly apparently. (See Forum Topic Hubs routers and NICs and check the review of Efficient Networks) The good folks who did the installation did so by talking to a tech rep back at the home office and didn't pick up on the problem apparently. After a couple of weeks of struggling with the problem, the final solution was to switch out the 4060 for a 5660 modem connecting through the ethernet card (NIC) and it has worked fine ever since.
Cost: This ISP is also my local telephone company and the DSL pricing is relative to whether or not you have your long distance service with them so it's difficult to compare. If I had my long distance service with them, the price for the 384 down/128 up level of service would only be around $40 instead of $50. Due to their LD rates at the time I signed up, it wasn't worth it to me. Now it might be as they have just lowered their LD rates. My throughput speed is typically in the neighborhood of about 310-320 down and 100-110 up.
Security: The service contract briefly noted that the always-on technology might require some kind of firewall but they weren't much help beyond this mention of it. On the other hand, with a little research on my own and downloading ZoneAlarm, the dynamic IP and firewall together seem to be providing adequate security for now.
Personnel: All of the people I've dealt with in person, via e-mail or over the telephone have been courteous, knowledgeable and considerate. It's a small community so I would expect this from a relatively small company.
Bottom Line: The telephone lines would only support 26.4 kbps transfer, even with a 56 kbps modem, so the ADSL is a big improvement. I might check out a satellite dish down the road but I'm happy for now.
