Ordered new DSL service: April 25th Service installed: May 8th 13 calendar days (not bad)
I've been a Speakeasy customer since December 1999. I recently had to move and was wary of the prospect of not having DSL service. Before I moved I spoke with SE sales and they were not optimistic about getting installed at my new address in less than 40 days. I guess they wanted to make sure they don't underestimate. I was up and running in 13 days. Not bad. I had 384/128 ADSL (SDSL) at my old address but had to get 608/128 RADSL at my new address. I still recommend Speakeasy to all my friends. SE gives static IPs and with RADSL line sharing you can use a self-install kit. Their online order tracking page TAC is great and keeps you informed of the status of your order.

The folks at WestNet were really helpful in getting our site back on the air after the recent NorthPoint bankruptcy - even though they were not our primary ISP. I was able to contact them the on the weekend that our DSL line self destructed. They were able to turn up an ISDN connection on the spot and our outbound access was restored. By the next business day they had static addresses defined, and by the next day our DNS entries had been migrated to their DNS server and we were back in business. And they got started before we completed all of the paper work.
They are more expensive, but I got results, not excuses.
