At the office, we have been using dial up for years, and to make matters worse, our 56k modem was only on one computer, the secetary's, so we pretty much had to play musical chairs when it came to getting on the internet. I then suggested that we get a dsl line and network it through the office.
So we tried dsl ISP #1...."connect south." they had us up and running in about 30 days and after that we had the luxury of dsl on every computer for 30 days.....until they went out of business.
Now everyone in the office knows what DSl taste like and refused to go back to the screeching modem connection.
So we tried ISP #2...."bellsouth." Now bellsouth has good service, because I'm a BSFA customer for a year now (at my house) but they was a major misunderstanding and bad billing that happened that we decide not to go with them
for example...they were billing my business for routers and service even when we had the dial up connection with AOL. They had my home connection/billing somehow linked to my job so-called accout that was not even existing and we had to pay a 600$ charge for some other crap ...and the list goes on.
So we tried ISp #3 ...."Covad" and if you've been keeping up with current events, you can pretty much predict the out come of that ordeal.....they had promisd that we'll be up in 2 weeks from the time the paper work was finished.Needless to say that we waited 2 weeks...4 weeks ....3 months and then they called us at the end of the 3 months to say that they are no longer servicing our area.
So we tried ISP #4 ....."Bti" and after the paper work, they too said two weeks, now we all have a bad taste in our mouths for so called 2 weeks up time so we were like "yeah right" but in three and a half weeks I was at my desk typing in d-s-l-r-e-p-o-r-t-s-.-c-o-m. and low and behold we were up again.
Service so far has been great. we have a 756 download and 356 up load and I swear that my download speeds at the house (1.5) is no faster that what we have at the office.

BTI is a great company. They delivered on their promises and I am a very happy customer. I would recommend BTI to my friends. I ordered a 144KB IDSL circuit and it perform at or around 144KB. I have a fixed IP and can use it to VPN into the office. I love the service. I order my line in April and it was installed in 30 business days.

Although a 144 IDSL connection, as well as being a bit more expensive, is somewhat slower than DSL or Cable, the dependability is what counts. When internet connection and dependability is a major importance to your business, there is no other choice.
Better Computer Services is a sales, services, repairs, and networking company. We tried Bell South DSL and found it very lacking in dependability, thus we began searching for a better solution.
BTI has consistantly provided the quality of service our company requires. I highly recommend them.

I ordered BTI IDSL service, I live just outside the range of ADSL and SDSL, on June 6, 2000 and by July 6 I had my service up and running. The only complaint I have is that the DSL caused some static on my voice line, but that is because the existing wiring in my house was CAT 2 wiring which Bell probably installed. BTI replaced the old CAT2 wiring with CAT 5 at no extra cost, problem solved. My speed's run at 140kbps, while not blazing fast, it sure beats the nigtmare of dial-up. Also, when I ordered the service I asked for a modem, they were giving those to customer's who signed one year commitment's and to my surprise I got a router at no extra cost. The feature I like most about my BTI DSL service is that I get a static IP address and my DSL service is a true dedicated connection to the internet, it's not shared like other service's.
I would recommend BTI DSL to anybody !

BTI Service:
We have had BTI DSL for two months. We have experienced no service problems or network problems. We choose BTI because it is less expensive than the some of the competition and faster than some of the others.
The lineman installed wires to network the DSL into our network hub. Installation was $50. Customer Service instructed us how to configure our computers to work with the new service. Configuration took 25 minutes and was free of charge.
DSL Impact on Our Business:
BTI Telecom provides DSL service to our small insurance agency. DSL has helped us in two main ways. 1. It allows us to eliminate our office supply of obscure insurance forms because we can now quickly download many forms from insurance company Web sites. In the past, regular modem internet access was so slow that downloading the forms was impractical. 2. DSL allows us to maintain all day access to insurance company web sites. Its speed makes it practical to check medical providers and insurance benefits online allowing us to discard volumes of paper directories. As a valuable bonus, the online information is always the most up to date!
So far so good!
