The Biblical Recorder, a Baptist newspaper in Raleigh, N.C. utilized BTI for our DSL ISP needs after a long and frustrating time using two different dail-up ISPs.
We now have an IDSL account with BTI that serves 10 networked computers. The personnel at BTI were very helpful and knowledgeable in helping us to evaluate our needs and pricing options, as well as with setup. Speed is not blinding, nor was it expected to be, but it is always on and always much faster than our previous dial-up service.
Our greatest frustration came from delays caused by BellSouth, which controls the lines in our area. We had to wait for BellSouth to come and hook up the new line, then had to wait again when they hooked it up incorrectly. The entire process took almost 5 months from date of contract before service was up and running. Since installation, however, we have run 3 months with no problems.

We ordered our BTI service on or about April 11, 2000. Final install was to be complete within 30 days. I am not positive when the install was complete but to date I cannot tell the difference between what we had and BTI. BTI service is not faster nor better than our old provider. I have have more problems with our internet than I did before BTI. The main reason we switched was to have our phone and internet bill from one company. Our company has been with BTI Telecom for approx. 2 mo. In that time we have found the customer service to be a little above average and sincere. Our performance was not quite what we expected, we were hoping to have a faster connection to the net, however BTI does not offer one. We are receiving the speed promised however, and the connection has always been 100% We connect at approx. 133k. Our initial technicians that connected the net were VERY knowledgeable and friendly and we were connected ahead of schedule. If BTI is able to improve the access speed offered I would rate them 9 out of 10 for anyone needing high speed access.

To whom it may concern, I want to extend my experiences regarding DSL providers and the outstanding results and service we have received from BTI. We are a leading third party logistics provider and we needed to quickly get a system up and running. BTI analyzed our situation and had us an operational line in three weeks, in our new office.(which we had not even moved into yet) The line is always clean and we have no complaints from anyone in our company regarding access or speed. I would highly recommend them to anyone in North Carolina where DSL service is needed.

I would like to report on our company's DSL line and the service we have received from BTI Telecom. We have had excellent service from BTI. We have had no major problems to report from the line or from BTI. I just thought you might like to know this.

We switched from a dedicated Bell South single terminal DSL access because it was slow, inconsistent and unreliable. We couldn't count on it. BTI was a better alternative. We now have 6 computers networked together and all have instant access to the Internet. Both the sales rep and the technical people were knowledgeable and responsive. The technical rep came in to help us set up the network access and knew what needed to be done to make it all work seamlessly for us. They did a great job and it was very impressive. The system is fast and reliable. The BTI folks were very competent and professional. We're glad we switched.

I am the systems administrator for Liberty HomeCare, we have a IDSL connection for 139.95 a month. The sales order and installation process was quick and reliable. BTI supplied the Copper Rocket Modem and we purchased a Cisco 2620 router for our firewall. Everything is running efficient and we have plans to upgrade to SDSL just as soon as it is offered.

My name is William Everhart, I ordered idsl service from BTI because they took care of everything and did it at a reasonable price. For 139.00 per month I got free installation, a free dsl modem and I didn't have to make any additional arrangements. The local phone company offered adsl service for a little less but they did not offer a static ip and there were way too many hoops to jump through just to find out two weeks into the process that the phone lines in my area would not support dsl service. BTI sent in a representative to discuss my needs in person not over the phone like the other services. BTI's representative was very helpful and was always just a phone call away whenever I needed her. They answered all of my questions about what I could expect from the service and they were very honest about the speeds. Which, by the way, are very good. While there are faster services out there like cable, availablity and reliability of such lines are still lacking. Tech support from BTI is great! I am a newcomer to all of this stuff and BTI's tech support made it very easy for even me. I have had the service for about 3 months now and I have received 2 follow up calls from BTI's support group just making sure that everything was okay, now that's service!

Sales and tech support were very well done. Lead time to receive router was too long and needed better coordination with installation. Peripheral service and assistance has been very good. I'm a little disappointed in the speed for IDSL vs dialup, especially considering the limited access we require to the internet. BTI folks are great to work with.

We had a IDSL line installed in April. The customer service has been good. They have informative sales people and pretty good response.
The speeds are not exactly as fast as I thought they would be, although it may just have been a misinterpretation on my part. Probably expected too much. We are supposed to be getting 144K. I can definately tell a difference on downloads and sendin/receiving large files via email.
Overall, BTI has been good.
