I would like to tell all of the wonderful experience I had with iNYC...after researching a lot of different ISP`s in the area I found these guys through a friend..between coordinating the installs, provisioning the line and setting the appointments I am up, running, and thrilled. My installation took 12 days from the date the order was placed..wow that was after I found out installation can take 3-6 weeks I have a 256k SDSL line for my business and I am paying $109 a month ....installation and the router was free.I have had horror stories with another ISP but these guys are amazing, everyone there is so friendly and helpful, I feel more like a friend to inyc than a client..the customer support is impeccable .I never waited on hold (and I hate that more than anything in the world)..and the phone never rings more than once before I get through to somebody..their pop is located in midtown manhattan which probably explains why im having such good ping times.. thanks guys and keep up the good work

I first started looking for DSL when my Supervisor asked that we start doing research on DSL for the office. We had enough with the expensive T1 prices we were getting from Bell Atlantic. I narrowed down my choices to a couple companies. I decided to go with iNYC because the sales person Tommy was a big help and answered a lot of questions I had.
We ordered a 1.5Mb SDSL line. It took 4 weeks for Bell Atlantic to show up and do some wiring. It took about 10 days after that for inyc to get the line working. It was a pain but Tommy was a big help, and supposedly it was Bell Atlantic's fault in the end. We are very happy with our line, and it is very fast.

Let me first say that I have done an extensive search for a DSL ISPs in the North East . I was told by a colleague of mine that he just got service from an ISP in NYC called iNYC. I never heard of them before but the minute I called them I knew that they were THE ISP to call. I called many ISPs that simply left me confused after I got off the phone with them. Oleg Gandelman was my Account Manager and explained how the setup and installation would go including what my service plan included. I decided to go with 1.5Mb/384k ASDL from Covad. The reason I went with them is that they were offering a Rebate of $198 back from Covad directly after the installation. The link is directly on their homepage which you can find at www.covad.com
It took only two attempts to have Bell Atlantic or Verizon or whatever you want to call them, come in and do the initial installation or what they called the Outside Wiring. BA had missed the first date for unknown reasons. I had to reschedule which took almost 14 business days to have them back out to complete the outside wiring. I then called iNYC who told me that Bell Atlantic will contact Covad and give them DMARC information. At that point Covad can come out to do the inside wiring. It only took 3 short days and I had David Bruno and a Covad Representative call me up for my availability dates. They asked me when I would be available. That was pretty nice considering that BA never called and missed their original date.
So, I took the day off and Covad came in as scheduled and completed the inside wiring along with providing me with the DSL modem. I thought that COvad was going to hook it up to my computer but they said I had to call my ISP. I called my Oleg my account representative who transferred me to David Atias in tech support who walked me through the DSL setup. I am not a technical person in the least bit but David walked me through an easy configuration. I restarted my computer and happy to say that I was surfing!!!! The Covad instillation was cake, in and out in less than an hour. I haven't begun to do any of the line testing because I am going to all the sites that I had slowness before first to see truly how fast this line is. I am extremely pleased with theservice that i have started to receive.

I had a previous nightmare with Concentric and I went to INYC. The installation took forever (85 days) but that was BA (Verizon's) fault. I got ADSL 1.5/385, 5 static IPs. Post-setup help has been great too, David Bruno is the man. Give David a bonus/raise.

iNYC did a good job setting expectations for the install, and then followed through on coordination. Install was a bit slow due to the Verizon (Bell Atlantic) strike, but iNYC kept me in the loop. I'm particularly pleased that they worked with me on a little extra testing and then got the Covad tech back to my home the same morning when the extra tests revealed that my aDSL modem had a faulty power switch. This was a smooth install - even the Verizon tech showed up on time and did his job well.
I ordered the 1.54 mbps aDSL service for $89. That's probably a dumb thing to have done, given that few if any servers can fill that pipe.
So far so good with iNYC.

Dear editor, I wanted to write in and tell you about the excellent service I have received from INYC. They are very helpful, have a wonderful tech support team, there is always someone answering the phones, and despite problems with Bell Atlantic, they have remained a true resource. I wholeheartedly recommend everyone use them. Regards, Tanya Boyden Yarkoni

I am a current customer of INYC. I had a very pleasant experience throughout the sales process. The installation was OK. Some bugs but they managed to work most of them out. It has been all down hill from there. I am paying $289.00 per month for 768K SDSL because I needed a business plan as I run some websites. My service has been up and down since installation in April. INYC's tech support is almost impossible to get ahold of. They appear to stroll into the office at 9AM. When I did get ahold of their tech support, they were not too technical. I wasted a full day arguing with INYC before they finally agreed to escalate the problem to COVAD. INYC only escalated the problem to COVAD after I went through their management chain to the top level and assured them that I would pay for the charge of having COVAD come to the house. COVAD was very helpful and quickly diagnosed the problem as Verizon's. Verizon came to my house the next day and got my service running. INYC checked in with me about a week after escalating to COVAD to tell me that Verizon would be coming to my house to work on it. Way to follow up guys. My line went back down again last week but I haven't even bothered to contact INYC as I am so unhappy with their service. I have moved all of my websites to external hosting until I find another DSL provider. One of the guys at INYC (Leo) recommended that I try flashcomm or Bell Atlantic as they all know what they are doing there. Perhaps I will take him up on this. My recommendation is to go with COVAD or Verizon directly and cut out INYC as they are only a reseller and can't do much of anything on their own. Thanks to both COVAD and Verizon for being there and providing the service. By the way, Verizon was on strike at the time and their service still far outweighed INYC. ------ Ed George www.MCSEguide.com

In working online for the past few years, I have yet to come across another provider of internet access that works so hard for it's customers. The staff is great, calling me multiple times ahead of instalation, letting me know the status of the set up of the line. Their follow up did not slow down either, calling on multiple occasions to make sure that I was fully operational and happy with the line. They let me know that their customer service was easy to access and available to me almost anytime. My entire business is dependent upon my line, I chose iNYC to have in my home (due to other responses I read), and I'm happy to reccomend them to anyone who is looking for a home or business line. My business is getting a line from iNYC now as well. VERY, VERY FAST!!!!! Don't be foolish and choose anyone else!

Re: INYC.COM
I would like to take this opportunity to voice my appreciation to the crew at INYC.
In March, 2000 I subscribed and agreed to a 2 yr contract for DSL service through Flashcom. Four months have past with several failed attempts by Flashcom to schedule an installation, at which point I starting sending threatening emails. Flashcom cancelled the contract and refunded my deposit. Going through a time consuming and torturous process with Flashcom, left me with the feeling that getting DSL was an impossibility.
After reading the positive customer reviews at dslreports.com for inyc.com, I took a chance. Needless to say, after signing on with inyc.com it took approximately three weeks to be connected to DSL.
While their charges are at a premium when compared to other providers (Bell Atlantic, Flashcom, ...) inyc.com's service (both customer and technical) is very good. The adage - you get what you pay for - certainly applies in the world of DSL.

My DSL ISP search started with BA. I saw their commercials on TV and thought ti was a very good deal. Went to their website and saw that I could get it. I signed up and waited. After three weeks of waiting and long holds on the phone, I gave up on BA. My friend told me about an ISP that was offering free DSL. I signed up for it. While I was waiting for a response from them, I looked around their website. My first impression was that it was a bit expensive compared to other ISPs. The thing that made me go for it was the offer of free equipment and free installation. Other ISPs claim that they have teh same thing, but you had to first fork out a chunk of money and that you'll receive back in a rebate. So I signed up for DSL.
A day after, in my e-mail were forms to fill out. I had no idea how to fill it out. I called the number listed in the e-mail. A rep name Tom Portoulas picked up. He walked me through the whole process. I decided to pick 1.5/384 because it was the same price as 768/384. He even called me back to confirm that he had received everything.
When it came to planning when BA and Covad would come to do what they had to do, David Bruno did a wonderful job of planning it so it would be good for me. Ba is horrible even when their not the ISP. They missed two appointments. Only the third time did they get it right. While he was putting in the circuit, he told me that I was so far from the CO that I would be lucky if I got 600. Being a bit discouraged, I called Tom. He said that it was possible that I wouldn't be able to get 1.5/384. He also told me that I could cancel the DSL if I couldn't get the speed I ordered at no charge. A few days after the BA guy, the Covad guy came. He put in the rest of the wiring, gave me a modem, tested that the circuit was active and left. Te time was around 2 in the afternoon. I jumped on the DSL after he left. After running a few online applications, went to a few websites and ran a game, I determined that I wasn't going faster than 300Kb. I called Tom back up and told him. he said that I should give it a day and that if it didn't get better, he would open a trouble ticket the next day. To my surprise, by 12 midnight, my DSL was running at a whopping 1350/350.
I spent a few weeks with flawless DSL service. Always running over 1300. In morning of 7/20, my DSL wasn't working. I called at 8:30 and Tom was there. He ran some tests from his end. Unable to figure out what was wrong, he opened a trouble ticket. Unlike other companies that open trouble tickets and get to it whenever they feel like it, Tom and his team spent all day working on it. In the afternoon, he called me back and told me that Covad was replacing a DSLAM in my area and that the service should be back up by the next day. The next day comes and goes. I wasn't home to test it. During the weekend, I called them and a guy named Alex picked up. I asked for Tom because he was my rep. He told me that he wouldn't be in until Monday. So I asked him about the status of my DSL. He pulled it up and saw that it was still unresolved. He took it upon himself to call Covad and BA. The weekend passes by and my DSL still wasn't up.
I was determined to get it back, so I basically spent the whole day on the phone with iNYC. Covad said everything looked good on their end and that it was BA's fault. BA said that everything was good on their end. It was this type of back and forth all day. (I wonder how the iNYC guys deal with it everyday.) Eventually Covad said that a tech would be at my house in two days to run tests. I decided I would leave the DSL stuff alone for two days because there's nothing more anyone can do until the tech came. The morning of the day the tech was suppose to come, I decided to turn on the DSL, just for the hell of it. At first, nothing happened. But my AIM out of no where was able to log on. My DSL was working again... The tech came later that day and was just as surprised as I was. She ran tests on my line to make sure it was healthy. The only downside was that I was at 200K again. Once again Tom told me to give it time. Just like the first time, he was right. As of aight now, I'm running at 1387/352.
I have to give mad props to certain people. (I was a real pain while my DSL was down.)
Tom- You da man! Sticking with me while my DSL was down.
Both Davids- Thanks for the support and the planning around my schedule.
Alex- Thanks for wasting most of the weekend and nights helping me.
Leo- I don't know how you do it, but thanks for sticking by me.
The rest of the company is great too. I highly recommend them. If they can give me 1.5/384 eventhough I'm 12,000ft from the CO, then they can give you what you want.
