I have been trying to get my dad off AOL dial-up for two years. Unfortunately his house is 25,000+ ft from the CO. While researching wireless internet I discovered "IDSL". I called a few places and finally settled on CISO because they were quick to answer the phone (no menus, just a person) and the prices were among the lowest.

He applied for service on July 3 and was quoted 4 to 6 weeks for install. Having experience with other DSL providers in the past, I told my dad not to expect it to work for at least 8 weeks. Amazingly, PacBell was on site just 3 weeks later, and 3 days after that, New Edge showed up to install the router. Wow!

So far it has been rock-solid speed wise. IDSL is expensive ($89/mo) and only 144K, but in all honesty it feels about 10x fater than AOL dialup, and nearly as fast as the 768K connection at my house.

Oh yeah, and my dad is REALLY hapy with the new connection. So much faster, always on, and no more getting kicked off AOL at random intervals!

I just switched from Relaypoint to CISO for DSL service. CISO gets a very
high recommendation from me. They always answer the phone and if they
don't, they will return your calls. For the past month, I've had a very
reliable connection and speed. I appreciate Eric's hard work in solving all
    problems in a speedy manner.

After many headaches from other ISP's (I've had DSL for almost 2 years now),
I have finally found a company I am satisfied with. Once again, they are
highly recommended. Please contact me if you have any questions on my
    dealings with them: Howard@ciso.com
