| Phone Calls With a fast line, you should be able to make phone calls over the net with less hassle than modem connections. Configuring whatever security/firewall you have can be a hassle though, as different applications need different incoming ports to be open to receive calls. Whatever you use, there should be a FAQ available on what you need to do to configure your firewall to full enable the product.

| Telecommute You've got a DSL line, your office has a T1. Is there some way this can be put together? Yes! Check into tunneled, encyrpted, networks.. create a pipe between you and your office server, via your office firewall, and your home PC suddenly has access to all the resources of the office (printers, intranet, office applications, files, whatever). Unfortunately, true point to point secure VPNs are difficult to implement over firewalls and NAT boxes, read the first link below for more information on this.

| MP3s and Napster date: Tue Oct 19 11:06:14 EDT 1999 MP3s are big. Far smaller than the raw data they are encoded from, but still over a megabyte or more per track for near-cd quality sound. DSL is just right for sharing them with your friends. Napster gives you the ultimate (windows only right now) cooperative mp3 database. Join in, share your collection, and have access to 970,000 other music collections that you can download. The record companies are going to have a cow over Napster.
