Yes. While your motherboard may only officially support memory speeds of 200 MHz (DDR400) you may use what ever speed memory you like. When you install any memory into a motherboard it will run at the cpu's default FSB, which could be 100, 133, 166 or 200Mhz. Then it is up to you to decide how fast you want to set the memory speed(read:overclock). So putting DDR500 memory into a motherboard that only supports DDR400 memory is not a problem.
Please remember that higher speed memory runs with looser timings that LL (low latency) RAM. Memory that is rated at DDR500+ runs looser timings than memory rated for speeds of under DDR500. If you are not going to run DDR500+ speeds you should consider buying ram with lower latencies like DDR400-433 memory.
