I lost my password, what do I do now? (#10483)
A freeware utility is available for resetting your Administrator password in the event you suddenly can't remember it. Information and the tool can be found by visiting this link - Offline NT Password and Registry Editor.

Alternatively, you can download Ophcrack which can be used to identify all user passwords on an NT based machine.

After you've recreated your password and are back in business, you can follow the instructions in the following MSKB articles (XP) for creating a password recovery disk:
