If your MSN mailhost file is missing or becomes corrupt or otherwise damaged, MSN shows a "Mailhost file" error message. To repair this:
Click Start/Run then type:
regsvr32 c:\progra~1\msn\msncorefiles\mailui.dll
in the open dialog box, and then click OK.

- Adding regsvr32 c:\progra~1\msn\msncorefiles\mailui.dll does not solve the problem if I have to shut the system down using the button on my tower. This mailhost is really a problem.

- My MSN mailhost had become corrupted and I could not access it. After I followed the steps you listed here my mailbox was restored and I can not access it without problems. These quick steps never seem to work very well but in this case it worked perfectly. Thank You !
