Hard Reset (#12184)

IF you are experiencing difficulty connecting with your DVG ATA, please contact TBB Technical support to complete the HARD RESET process and restore TBB settings.

The DVG's default IP address is 192.168.15.1, so any computer connected through on the Ethernet port (directly or through a LAN) should be able to access this unless the default settings were changed or a new setting was lost or forgotten. This can usually be fixed with a HARD Reset, and does not require replacement of the DVG ATA, except in the case of defective H/W.

Warning:
DO NOT DO A HARD RESET UNLESS YOU ARE SURE THAT YOU CANNOT ACCESS THE DVG DEFAULT ADDRESS... IT WILL WIPE OUT PRIMUS SETTINGS AND REQUIRES Primus TBB Technical Support TO RESTORE THEM... WE CANNOT BE HELD LIABLE IF YOU FOLLOW THESE PROCEDURES...

The DLINK site provides info on how to do a HARD RESET.. which for reference is provided here:

•Locate the reset on the back of the unit below the word RESET.

•With the unit powered off, press and hold the Reset button with a paper clip.

•Hold the Reset button and plug the power back in with the reset button still pressed.

•Wait about 6 seconds then release the Reset button.

•The unit will reboot. Allow 20-30 seconds before reconnecting.

•The device is now at factory defaults.

After a Hard Reset, wait for at least 4-5 minutes before proceeding. This is because the DVG will attempt to update itself with the latest Firmware (if it is connected to the Internet). This can take a few minutes, and should not be interrupted by unplugging either power or ethernet cables.

Please note that the TBB Terms and Conditions refer specifically to resets of the DVG ATA:
You acknowledge that performing a reset of the Equipment without permission from PRIMUS may cause Service malfunction and any damage to the Equipment caused by such malfunction will be the responsibility of the Customer. Where the Equipment is owned by PRIMUS, You will be responsible for charges for damage to the Equipment.
