Verify that the Ethernet cables and jacks on the DVG ATA, router, and computers look OK (wires or pins on jacks are not bent). Ensure the modular clip on any of the RJ45 plugs is not broken, as this will allow the ethernet cable to unplug itself from the jack; or it may be loose and cause intermittent problems with your LAN/WAN.

Verify that the Telephone cables and jacks on the ATA and telephone(s) look OK (wires or pins on jacks are not bent). Ensure the modular clip on any of the RJ11 plugs is not broken, as this will allow the telephone cable to unplug itself from the jack; or it may be loose and cause intermittent problems with your telephone call (static, ringbacks on calls "on-hold", no ringing...).

•When you encounter problems connecting (ping etc), swap cables to help isolate problems.

•Try a different cable if it "feels" tight when plugging the cable into the jack.

•Replace cables as necessary.
