AUDIO: VOLUME CONTROL

Use this feature to set the volume control to one of the following
options:
The setting Fixed always provides maximum audio output. This setting
is recommended if you control the volume using a stereo receiver/home theater system. Use the Variable setting for all other means of volume control.

This doesn't appear to address the actual question. The question refers to 'Audio: Range', which is a separate parameter from 'Audio: Volume Ctrl'. Audio range has the options wide, normal, and narrow. What do they do?
