The Custom Operator Number (aka Zero Out Number) can typically be your cell phone number, direct dial office number, or any number you may wish to use.

When the Custom Operator Number is defined, if a caller presses '0' during the VoiceMail greeting playback, the call will be transferred to it. It is your prerogative as to whether you:

•provide a VoiceMail Greeting such as "You can try to contact me by pressing '0' now"

•or simply letting selective people know in advance about the feature (no explicit info in the greeting).

The caller can leave you a messsage first before pressing '0'. However, once transferred, the caller will no longer be able to leave a VoiceMail on TBB. Unless you have a separate VoiceMail system at your defined number, the caller will have to call you back.

Setting the Custom Operator Number

•Access your VoiceMail through a phone and follow the prompts (i.e. you can 'Hear' or 'Change' the Custom Operator Number).

•Through the Portal on the Notifications link (under the 'Voice Mail' TAB)1.

It should be specified preferably as 10 digits; long distance charges may apply to your TBB account if the number is prefixed with a "1".

1See Email Forwarding & Notifications (Phone, Pager, Cell Text Messaging) for an explanation of the other selections visible.
