Sometimes, thumbnails will lose their labels in Explorer. To restore the labels, open the problem folder and change the view to something else, say icons. Now change back to thumbnails while holding down the shift key. This should bring back the labels. Similarly, labels can be hidden by changing the view and restoring thumbnails while holding the shift key. Windows XP uses the shift key in this case to toggle between labeled and unlabeled thumbnails.
