If you find that Caller ID (CLI) displays only when your phone is plugged into certain telephone jacks in your home, you may have an issue with the wiring of the non-functioning jacks.

TBB user Martin has explained that CLI is transmitted via the ring (red) wire and that a polarity reversal can affect the transmission of CLI on jacks where the red wire has been swapped with the green wire.

In order to ensure that CLI is transmitted and displayed at all jacks, make certain that the red and green wires are correctly located for each jack.
