quote:
An uninstaller is a computer program which is designed to remove all or parts of a specific other program or application. It is the opposite of an installer. Most software vendors ship an uninstaller with their applications.

This year, the most popular option in the 2nd ever 2008 Poll on Uninstallers, was Windows Add/Remove Programs with 150 votes out of 274 total, which is an overwhelming 54.7%.

It seems that many people are content with the built-in Windows utility and would rather just uninstall their programs this way. After all, it works and it’s simple, why mess with it?

2nd place in the poll was CCleaner with 48 votes, which is 17.5%.

3rd place in the poll was “other” with 14 votes, which is 5.1%%. Some people use imaging utilities or other programs not listed in the poll. This indicates that there are people out there who wish to do advanced uninstall of programs, via methods such as imaging.

In fourth place Total Uninstall 12, which is 4.3%.
