Telemarketing Guard is a version of Privacy Guard that targets telemarketers as opposed to blocked numbers. It appears to operate on a white/black list basis. The general usage of the feature is described below. At this time it is not possible to configure Telemarketing Guard from the MyTBB Portal. Enabling telemarketing guard will add a call treatment to the Concierge. It is not recommended that you edit this call treatment at this time.

To access the Telemarketing Guard menu, dial *46 from your TBB handset. The main menu is as follows:

1 enable TMG
2 disable TMG
3 choose your call treatment for intercepted telemarketing calls
4 enter a number and report it as a telemarketer
5 remove a number from your denied telemarketing list or allowed friends and family list
6 identify a number as an allowed friends and family list number

Call treatments (option 3) are as follows:

1 require callers to announce themselves and then you can accept or reject the call
2 require callers to verify they aren't a telemarketer to get through to you
3 send all telemarketing calls straight to voice mail

Dialing *44 after a call has come in will allow you to assign call treatments directly to that last number that called you.

Although you may have access to the TMG menu this does not mean that it is active yet on your account (as Primus rolls it out to all customers). Dialing *44 from your handset will indicate that TMG is truly active if the system reads back the last number to call your line. Primus has indicated that it will be possible to configure TMG via the MyTBB Portal once everyone is activated on their system.

Primus has provided two user guides for this service. These are a Quick Guide and a Full Guide.
