If you want to run the Agent while your system is in the login screen, there is a method, but the only downside is there is no way to check progress on it if you do it this way, as the icon for it will not be in the tray next to the clock.

Make sure UD is set to NOT run as a screensaver. Go to Control Panel and then go to Scheduled Tasks. Select "Add a scheduled task" and then tell it the location of UD.exe. Pick "Start task when computer starts up". Then type in Administrator and the password for administrator. Then make sure to check "Open advanced properties" and click Finish. Go to the Settings tab and then uncheck the line that says "Stop the task if it runs for 72 hours". Then click OK.

After that, just re-boot and it will start UD as a task and will run while you are in the login screen. It should be able to upload and get new units this way as well.

But as mentioned, you lose the blue icon in the tray if you do this and therefore won't be able to check to see what % you are at or anything that you can do with it.
Thanks to Cajun Man for posting this info.

There is an "official" thread about running the Agent as a service in Windows here. There may be some issues in doing this, so it is recommended reading before you attempt running the Agent as a service.
