What type of connection protocol does AOL Plus use?

AOL currently provides service through PPPoE. Thus you may any PPPoE client to connect to the service.

Connection via Client:

For AOL version 6.0, this software comes packaged with a modified version of a pppoe, also known as Winpoet for use. Nonetheless, any Winpoet client installed will be used through this client version.

Version 7.0 and 8.0 uses a completely proprietary pppoe in which AOL developed, also known as the WAN adapter.
