Yes. Because you can. A scripted attack aimed at stopping the firewall
might be thwarted this way. With password authentication set, you will be prompted for your password before you can stop the firewall. A scripted exploit couldn't anticipate even a trivial password, so even with a stand alone one user install, a password protecting firewall is highly advantageous.
