Cox is divided into three (3) regions:
East = CT, FL, GA, LA, NC, OH, RI, VA
Central = AR, IA, ID, KS, MI, NE, OK, TX, UT
West = AZ, CA, NV

pop.east.cox.net
pop.central.cox.net
pop.west.cox.net

Email (SMTP)
smtp.east.cox.net
smtp.central.cox.net
smtp.west.cox.net
