This has changed within the last 6 months. You can now keep your email address for free as long as you left your account in good standing. And, in actuality.. it used to be $24.95 a month, not just a one time transfer fee. AT&T required you to have the email address associated with an active internet account, so if you cancel dsl.. you could keep a dial up only account to keep your email address, current price on dial up is $24.95.

There is no fee to keep email addresses but when you move you must register the account using the master account(email address) and password when registering. No transfer fee with AT&T
