Window size: How do I get Internet Explorer to remember?

There are several ways to attempt this with IE. Here are some to try:
    •Open a window and drag it to it's full size. Don't use the maximize setting (double square thingy). Then close the window using the X while holding down the shift key. Then open the window again and it, and any subsequent windows should then open maximized. Repeat if needed later on down the road, if you should resize a window to smaller.•Also try holding the shift but close your window with File/Close (on Menu bar)•Adjust window to the size you want (perhaps with the maximize button). When you're done, just press Ctrl - and press the X.
Note - the solution seems to vary by OS, etc.

Close all Internet Explorer windows. Now open Internet Explorer, open a link in a new window, and re-size that window. Now close the original Internet Explorer window, so that only the re-sized window is left - then close it.
