All providers have some or ALL subscribers connecting Ok. There are a few problem providers (AOL Highspeed, Rogers).. see the other FAQ entries for info on those.

Otherwise, for various reasons, your own setup may make it harder to connect. For example, your highspeed modem is USB based and has no ethernet port (solution? find out what model ether modem your ISP wants to sell you, and then go on ebay and buy one). Or, your cable provider DHCP servers will not allocate an IP address to your PS2, because they have locked it to your PC only (solution? go out and buy a router like a linksys, d-link, netgear or zyxel, then connect your modem to that, and hook up the PS2 behind the router). Or you are using AOL HIGHSPEED without a home router (solution? see previous point, or, use Windows ICS and look at the OTHER FAQ question on AOL HIGHSPEED).
