A Primary Connection is the most important part of the WinMX network. Without them, there would be no network. The Primary computers handle all searches, whois requests, browsing of other user's files, IMs and chat rooms. They also establish all the links that form within the network. They host all the people who are, for whatever reason, unable to make a primary connection. You must have a relatively high amount of bandwidth to be a primary connection - like at least DSL or cable, preferably a T1 or greater. You must also have a fast computer - by WinMX standards, the minimum processor speed must be at least 266 MHz. Secondary connections are all those that cannot be a Primary connection. A few examples are: slow connection, ie dial-up modems, ISDN; slow processor; incorrectly configured firewalls or complex LAN set-ups.
