If you find that you can receive email, but cannot send, try entering the SMTP server address for your ISP mail account as opposed to "mail.dslr.net." For instance, "smtp1.sympatico.ca". (This is an example only. Your SMTP entry will be different.)

It would appear that with some ISPs, you are unable to access the SMTP server "mail.dslr.net" and have to use your ISP's SMTP server to send mail.

In other words, if you are unable to send email using the settings provided, try plugging in the SMTP server address you normally would use for your ISP email account.

ALSO TRY USING PORT 26 INSTEAD OF 25

Feedback received on this FAQ entry:
  • Is there a different setup (different settings / port) for outgoing Emails; than using Ports 25 or 26 -or- using my home ISP's SMTP server? I don't want to setup my DSLR emails to use my ISP's SMTP server for outgoing (sending) email. Reason is my DSL ISP has had problems and DSLR's email system has been my backup resource. Also I sometimes Email when traveling, which means a different ISP.
