A temporary address is an alias for your main mailbox that will automatically expire after 14 days. After the 14 day period, mail sent to the temporary address will bounced and will not appear in your inbox.
A temporary address is useful for working with an online retailer (for example) who's privacy policy you might not trust. You will be able to receive the retailer's order confirmations, tracking numbers, etc. without the worry of them spamming you or selling your email address.
To set up a temporary address, go to your Mail Control Panel and click on "add temporary address".

After agreeing to the terms and conditions, you will be allowed to select the name for the alias. Please note that any temporary address you create will always begin with uXXXXXX_, where X=your unique DSLR user number. I used the name of the retailer I was purchasing from as the suffix.

After you hit NEXT, you will get a confirmation screen and you will be sent back to the mail control panel where your new alias will appear along with it's expiration date.

Thats it! Should you no longer need the address before the 14 day period is up, you can always click on the "edit" button from the Mail Control Panel and manually delete the alias.
