Opera has three settings for graphics: you can opt to see no images, only images that has previously been loaded, or all images on a page.

Because retrieving images can be very slow, the first two states may seriously speed up your browsing.

This setting can be toggled in any window by pressing the g key or clicking the button that looks like a tiny screen on the left side of the document address.
