There are two types of alias accounts that you can add to your primary POP account: permanent and temporary.

To add either, go to your mail control panel: /mail
and click on either of the two links at the bottom.
Add Address
Add Temporary Address

If you're adding a permanent alias, you will use the first link. All permanent alias addresses begin with a prefix, which is preset to your account number. You may change this by clicking on Settings at the top of the control panel. You cannot change the prefix of temporary alias accounts.

If you're adding a temporary alias, follow the second link. All temporary alias accounts expire automatically in 14 days. These are useful for situations like ordering on line or joining websites, since they're basically "throw away" accounts.

Temporary alias accounts automatically forward incoming mail to your primary POP account. Permanent alias accounts can be set to forward mail to any account you choose, off site.
