...there was just the "Baby Bells" forum. Then Pac*Bell got it's own, and then BellSouth. And then the rest of the SBC areas got their own forum. This post from April 2000 is the first one for Ameritech, if you care to read the 30,000+ topics here from the beginning. It was moved here when the forum was created in June 2000. Unfortunately a redesign of the archive won't let you just scroll through all of them anymore.

A bit of site trivia. The post linked above was number 54,346. As of 12-28-07 there are over 19,700,000 individual forum posts plus a couple million news and review comments with new ones being added at a rate of over 5,000 per day.
