Netopia R910 5 IP Setup (#5364)
Netopia R910 5 IP Setup

This documentation will help you setup your Netopia R910 to use the 5 IP package, but may apply to other Netopia routers as well. Note that the R910 does not have a built in DSL modem.
1. Select "Easy Setup"
2. Change “Enable PPP over Ethernet” to “On”
3. Select “Next Screen”
4. Make sure that “Address Translation Enabled” is set to “Yes” and “IP Addressing” is set to “Numbered”
5. “Local WAN IP Address” should be set to the IP you would receive if you were using a DSL Modem and Enternet. Generally seems to be the highest IP in your block. Use
the appropriate subnet mask.
6. “Remote IP Address” is the address of your gateway. You can get this from Enternet as well.
7. “PPP Authentication” needs to be set to “CHAP”
8. “Send Host Name” is your login name
9. “Send Secret” is your password
10. Select “Next Screen"
11. "Ethernet IP Address" defaults to 192.168.1.1 you can leave it set as is unless you intend to use another range, use the appropriate subnet mask.
12. Domain name is "dsl.chgil.ameritech.net"
13. Enter whatever primary and secondary DSN server you like
14. "Default IP Gateway" is the same IP as you entered in step 6.
15. Change "IP Address Serving" to "Off"
16. Select "Next Screen"
17. You will be prompted to select a user name and password for write access to the router, fill these in as appropriate.
18. Select "Restart Device"
19. When the router comes back up login and select "Quick Menus"
20. Select "Network Address Translation"
21. Select "Add Public Range"
22. "Range Name" call it whatever you like for purposes of this documentation well call it "Static1"
23. "Type" is "Static"
24. "First Public Address" is the lowest useable IP in your range and "Second Public Address" is the highest useable IP.
25. Select "Add NAT Public Range"
26. Select "Show/Change Map List"
27. Select "Easy-PAT List"
28. Select "Add Map"
29. "First Private Address" is lowest private IP you want to use and "Last Private Address" is the highest.
30. Select "Use NAT Public Range"
31. Select "Static1" in this example
32. Select "Add NAT Map"
33. Select "Move Map"
34. Select the newly created map (hit enter)
35. Hit the up arrow to move it to the top of the list and hit enter to place it.
36. Exit back to the main menu and reboot the router (under Utilities and Diagnostics) Phew, that was a long journey, you should be ready to roll at this point. Don't forget to configure your firewall rules as well. At this point all your ports are open to the internet. I won't go into that here. The nice folks over in the "Security" forum can help you with that.

Cayman 3546 Router Info including static IP setup (#9334)
The Cayman modem/router currently issued by SBC is model# 3546(002) its current firmware is v6.4.0R2 the 3546 replaced the 3220H. Current 3220H firmware is v6.3.0R7 also there is a model# 3547W which is wireless B. All three models can be used with SBC's static or dynamic DSL. BBR has a Cayman Forum and FAQ which has a wealth of Cayman Router information and links.
