The 2Wire HomePortal has basic line monitoring capabilities. It can monitor Data rates, signal to noise ratio, attenuation, and power. It does not capture advanced statistics like attainable line rate, ATM rates, or line capacity. Click here to learn more about line statistics, what is being measured, and recommended values.
Step 1 Open a browser and type 192.168.1.254 in the address field to access the 2Wire Interface. Click on the View Summary link.
The lights on the front of the modem will indicate the status of the modem and its connection state. Step 2 Under the Broadband Link section click on the Statistics link.

Step 2
• Under the Broadband Link section click on the Configure link. • Confirm that there is an 8 in the VPI box and 35 in the VCI box. • Change the ATM PVC Search to Disable • Change the connection type to Direct IP (DHCP or Static) • Click the Submit button at the bottom right side of the page.
Step 3
• Under the Advanced section click on the Configure Services link. • Remove the check mark from the Enable Routing checkbox. • Click the Submit button.
Step 4 The page below is the page where the access point can be disabled. It remains active when the modem is in bridge mode. This page can only be accessed from the main GUI, using the icons at the top and the links just below. Leaving the access point active provides an easy way to access the modem GUI.
