2. Installation
The following is a comparison table of the various popular DC++ clients and others that use the Direct Connect / ADC protocol(s). One can see from the columns of features, how the clients differ from the original DC++ and other modded clients. This is obviously not an all inclusive list of additional features over the original client. One should take some time to further explore what features the main clients offer.
If you would like your client added, send me a PM and I'll consider adding it. The table is a work in progress, suggestions are welcome.

got feedback?The Jucy client runs on linux and OS X. It is also possible to compile linuxdcpp for OS X.

Yes, the latest available version of DC++ works just fine on Vista and newer.
For versions older than 0.760, just make sure to install it with Administrator rights when you see the
UAC prompt. It is recommended that you install these older versions
outside the Program Files/Program Files(x86) folder to avoid problems. If you still want to install them to Program Files, make sure you run DC++ with administrator rights (right click on the DC++ shortcut and select
Run as administrator) or disable UAC completly (not recommended).
Warning : be prepared that running an older version of DC++ poses several security risks as well as stability problems. Running the older the version of DC++ on Vista and later you can expect the more features missing or not working as it should (UPnP for example).
