What is the difference between the DCT-6028 and 6412
The DCT-6028 is a single tuner HD-DVR. It is capable of recording a single channel at a time. You must be watching the channel you are recording or watching a prerecorded program.
The DCT-6412 is a dual-tuner HD-DVR. It has 2 built in tuners and is capable of recording 2 channels, or record 1 channel while viewing another at the same time.

I tried to program 30 second skip and it didn't work...
The 30 second skip programming only works for iGuide equipped DVRs. Also note that 30 second skip only works on prerecorded or delayed (through use of the pause live programming feature) programming. You can not 30 second skip live programming since that FUTURE programming hasn't been received yet.

Ethernet Port/USB Port
Ethernet port isn'tactive on the Comcast DVRs but info from smileybri

that the USB ports are active but has yet to find valid WinXP drivers.
I have a lot of stuff on it and there's to much to delete. What can I do?
There's a code that you can enter to delete *everything* even the information from the guide. So it will take 15-30 minutes to re-download like there was a power surge. To delete it, follow these steps:
With your remote
Press "replay" one time ( the arrow bending back )
Press "MY DVR" three times ( button next to replay)
Press "LIVE" one time ( button next to MY DVR)
Your box will shut down and do all sorts of junk. Let it sit a minute then turn it back on.

What is the latest firmware and what does it do?
Importance of the cable box IP Address
The I.P. Address is required for certain interactive services such as Video On Demand. If you are having trouble with these services, check to see if your box has pulled an IP by viewing the diagnostic screen d14. If it hasn't or you can't obtain video on demand services, contact Comcast technical support at 1-800-COMCAST
Lockups
Firmware version 9.15 addresses many lockup issues and is currently being deployed. Some have reported that some lockup/delay issues persist.
