9. eMule
Emule is the best working and very big and popular system along with bittorren. network.. by null Check in Preferences for the option to accept ED2k links and click "Apply". If for some reason, you're still having problems getting the links to work, Try this: Right click on the link Choose "Copy Shortcut" In eMule, go to the Search window Place your mouse in the ED2k link area Right click and choose "Paste" Click "Start" The file should now appear in the Transfer window. by somebodeez Just transfer your eDonkey Temp folder to the eMule directory or point eMule to your eDonkey Temp folder in Preferences/Directories. by somebodeez Open up the addresses.dat file in Notepad. Copy/paste some server met addresses (one to a line) and save. Close Notepad. Run eMule. Next time eMule is run, it will automatically update the server list using the server met addresses you specified in your addresses.dat file if you have told eMule to "Auto-Update server list at startup". by somebodeez by somebodeez These are mods. To see what they are and to check on them from time to time, trot on over to the eMule mods forum here. (registration required) eMule and all of it's mods are constantly being worked on and new versions are coming out all the time. You're likely to see differences in the versions as time goes on. If you are using a modified version of eMule, check the mod forum (linked above) and go to the forum for the particular mod you are using for any info about that mod.
by somebodeez by somebodeez It is also very helpful if you have given the file you're working on downloading "Release" priority in your Shared Files window. This creates a sort of loop. This enables others who are working on this same file to jump higher in your upload queue, there by giving you the opportunity to share with them the parts that you have which, in turn raises your QR with them.
by somebodeez If those people are on, eMule will find 'em for ya You can right click on a file you're down loading and tell eMule to load the sources or save the sources. Some say that it's best, as a rule to let eMule do that automatically for you so as not to stress the servers. But sometimes, you may have to close your eMule for whatever reason (this is what I do) and before you do, you can save those sources.
by somebodeez See WildGod's guide here. by somebodeez When you connect to a server, it tells you your ID# there. If you have a little green icon at the bottom of your eMule screen next to the name of the server you are connected to, your ID# is high. by somebodeez 4662 TCP 4672 UDP If you're a former eDonkey user and you've already configured eDonkey ports in your router set up, you should be good to go. If you need help forwarding the ports, check here. Check the eMule forum's FAQ for Ports, Routers and Firewalls: »emule.sourceforge.net/ by somebodeez | |||||||||
