To submit news, simply follow this link. Most news items should go up into the Forum News instead of a thread now to keep the board organized. Separate threads on most news items will be locked and you will be re-directed to post into the Forum News.
News submissions should be of material relevant to New York. They must include the article title, the first few lines of the article with author, and a link to the article. Do not copy and paste the full article into the submission box. We are subject to copyright. You may also add a small comment of your own at the end and will be included if it is appropriate. All news submissions are subject to moderation before they will be displayed.
Remember, news articles are open for debate in the Forum News section by clicking on the title of the article and clicking "Post!" underneath the article you wish to comment on.
News articles that are submitted into the forum news sections are open to debate via the "Post!" button in the news main page.
However, news articles may also be discussed as a separate threads now. Articles may be submitted into the forum news and then have a separate thread created for board discussion. A link to the news article (preferably the submitted article from the forum news) should also be included as well so other users can read more about the topic in question.
Note: Articles should be submitted into the forum news before having a discussion thread started.
Depending on what type of offense you are charged with there are likely many different options for you. We have decided that discussions regarding, "I got a speeding/parking ticket" or "I just got a traffic summons", "My license has expired", "I received a violation", "how much are these violations?" - would be much better suited for a licensed professional rather than in our forum.
We find that forum discussions on these issues in general - are generally of no benefit to you and usually end up causing more harm than good. We would much rather see you get the professional help you need instead of potentially poor or misleading advice.
If you are just curious to see what options may be available we suggest that you try Googling using key words that describe your offense such as "beat speeding/parking ticket" or "beat reckless driving ticket", "got called to court", "how much is this ticket", What do I do with a summons I received?, or "driving with expired license". You may also use the forum search feature to reference older threads on speeding, summonses, costs and other related discussions.
