1 General Information

What are the RCA Cable modem status pages?

If you use an RCA Cable modem, you'll probly want to know where the fancy signal strength and status page is.
By entering the modem's default gateway into your browser address bar (http://http://192.168.100.1), you will come up with a simple status page to check connectivity.

The address to check signal strength levels is »192.168.100.1/moreinfo.html

2 Problems

Issues with RCA cable modems

If you have slow speeds, high pings and so much packtloss, downloading, surfing and gaming is impossible, your ping monitor looks like this and your ISP assures you that everything is totally okay on their end, your modem is probly getting interference.

Here are some things to check:

·There should be an 18-24" area of space surrounding the modem.
·RFI can be introduced from virtually anything electric or electronic. Monitor, tower, speakers, cell phones, subwoofer, other cables

Now, here's some of my personal experience: What I ended up having to do was move the cable modem to the other side of my living room away from ALL electronic devices. My subwoofer and computer power cable were messing it up big time. Hope this helps.
