·Where can I find firmware updates for my Speedstream 5260?

You can find a new Speed Stream Efficient Modem at the following link: www.sbcdslstore.com/productcategories...

Give sdpb1713 part credit, as I found this in the following thread: www.dslreports.com/forum/remark...

Currently, there are no firmware updates for the 5260. Efficient Networks keeps all firmware updates for their Speedstream modems at http://support.efficient.com/drivers/kernels/ss.shtml. If you are looking to convert your 5260 to a 5660, you should read The Unofficial Speedstream 5260-->5660 FAQ. If you have questions about this conversion, they should be posted in the Efficient forum.

Check the following:
•The box that the modem is packed in will have the part number listed as 120-5360-520.
•On the modem chassis (the bottom of the modem), the following part number is displayed: 060-5360-023.

If so, a quick and easy firmware upgrade for the modem should solve your problem and get you on your way. Use the appropriate link for your region:
Pacbell
NVbell
SWbell
Ameritech
SNET
SBCglobal
