The 2804 Series comes with SMC2804WBR and SMC2804WBRP-G, both these model comes with two different hardware versions.

Part Numbers
Models Version 1 Version 2
2804WBR 750.9915, 751.0052 751.0164, 751.7437
2804WBRP-G 751.0122 751.7412

Note:
1. Part numbers listed here are applicable for US and Canadian Regions and may differ from those in European and Asia-Pacific regions.
2. Several other Beta and Stable versions for firmware is available for SMC2804WBRP-G, check for this link. Both Versions of SMC2804WBRP-G would work with same firmware, however a Version 2 would accept firmware with V2.00 onwards and may not work with any of V1.x firmwares.
3. All the Hyperlink would open in a new window.

Because it has failed to connect with a "time server". Power down and then power back up and it should have cleared the old date and time, and now have correct date and time.

The 1.93s firmware does fix this security flaw. I thank all of you for bringing this problem to our attention.

Excerpt from the readme file of firmware 1.93s:

*** R1.93p TO R1.93s

1. Bug fixed: a potential security hole: system password can be snooped at the IE History folder.

You must reset the ABR to factory defaults. To do this, push and hold the small blue reset button on the front side for at least 5 seconds. After you released it, it takes about 2 seconds, then the power LED starts blinking and the unit is restarting. After that, all your settings are lost including the password.

At this time there is no firmware available that allows you to change the MTU value in the ABR series routers. (hey SMC, you listening).

For the SMC 7008ABR, upgrade the firmware to v1.41.008. After that you can change the MTU value at Setup | WAN | PPPoE. This only applies to the PPPoE WAN protocol, not to DHCP or static IP.

At this time, there is no MTU changes in ABR firmware.

The 7004BR and 7008BR.

After logging into router go to: 192.168.123.254/sysp.htm and select
proper MTU setting for your connection type (firmware 1.93c and later).
Be sure to "Save" then reboot router after changing MTU settings.

Virtual Server - If you configure the Barricade as a virtual server, remote users accessing services such as Web or FTP at your local site via public IP addresses can be automatically redirected to local servers configured with private IP addresses. In other words, depending on the requested service (TCP/UDP port number), the Barricade
redirects the external service request to the appropriate server (located at another internal IP address).

For the moment you will have to read the manual or go to SMC web site for an answer.

Yes there are four known pages for the -BR- routers at this time...

/sysp.htm
/syslog2.htm
/syslog.htm
/sysinfo.htm

Packet Filter enables you to control what packets are allowed to pass the router. Outbound filter applies on all outbound packets. However, Inbound filter applies on packets that destined to Virtual Servers or DMZ host only. You can select one of the two filtering policies:

1. Allow all to pass except those match the specified rules
2. Deny all to pass except those match the specified rules

You can specify 8 rules for each directions: inbound or outbound. For each rule, you can define the following:

* Source IP address
* Source port address
* Destination IP address
* Destination port address
* Protocol: TCP or UDP or both.

For source or destination IP address, you can define a single IP address (4.3.2.1) or a range of IP addresses (4.3.2.1-4.3.2.254). An empty implies all IP addresses.

For source or destination port, you can define a single port (80) or a range of ports (1000-1999). Add prefix "T" or "U" to specify TCP or UDP protocol. For example, T80, U53, U2000-2999. No prefix indicates both TCP and UDP are defined. An empty implies all port addresses.

Each rule can be enabled or disabled individually.

It is possible to go backwards with other SMC products. Until proven otherwise, it 'may' also be possible to do it with the ABR series routers.

The 3Com 3C510, Amit HiP-400E, and Gigafast EE400-RP all share firmware with the SMC7004BR. (There are more of course, I just don't know the exact model numbers)
