Yes and no. Depending on the contract you agree to, you may or may not be subject to additional charges if you exceed a certain level of data transferred. Make sure you read the contract in detail before agreeing to anything, because there is a penalty charge if you end the contract early.

To date, we have no report of a Sympatico customer having their service suspended for using or transferring an "excessive" amount of data. However, we have heard reports that Sympatico may call you to confirm what you are doing with your connection if you transfer more than about 150GB a month up or down, just to confirm your computer has not been hijacked by a trojan/virus/spyware/etc.
