5.0 Bandwidth Caps

Despite what Sympatico representatives may tell you, all new contracts do NOT include unlimited data transfer. There is always a limit for which you will be charged if you exceed.

Beware that if you currently have an old contract, that any type of account change, no matter how minor, may cause your old contract to end and Sympatico give you a new contract. Should this occur, and you discover it later, there is no going back to the old contract, even if you feel that you were not properly informed.

To date, we have no report of a Sympatico customer having their service suspended for using or transferring an "excessive" amount of data. However, we have heard reports that Sympatico may call you to confirm what you are doing with your connection if you transfer more than about 150GB a month up or down, just to confirm your computer has not been hijacked by a trojan/virus/spyware/etc.
