Submited by Sedated 11/28/2002 by kadar "9. PERSONAL WEB SPACE: Personal Web Space ("PWS") may be made available to you as an optional feature of the Service. Additional terms and conditions applicable to PWS, including pricing if applicable, are posted in the PWS area of the My Account page on the Website. In the event of a breach by you of this Agreement or the terms and conditions applicable to PWS, Verizon Online has the right immediately to terminate your PWS without notice. Verizon Online has the right to delete all data, files, and other information stored on or for your PWS upon termination of your Service for any reason. by kadar Submited by Sedated 11/28/2002 by kadar 10MB of Personal Web Space is provided to each Verizon primary account for free, and more can be purchased. The primary account holder is responsible for setting permissions and allocating space to sub-accounts. Log in to Verizon Central as primary account holder and click the link for "MyAccount", then scroll down and look for the Personal Web Space section, and click on "View/Edit Details". That will take you to View/Allocate Personal Web Space. Once the details are set, you can access your space as directed in the steps below. You will need to log in with the username of the space you wish to access, so you may need to Sign Out of your current account before proceeding. 1. Start by logging into https://www.verizon.net/central/vzc.portal?_nfpb=true&_pageLabel=pws. If you are not already logged in, you will be prompted for your username and password. You can set the "[x] Remember Me" checkbox if you want to save your login for subsequent return. 2. If this is the first time you're accessing your PWS, you will be directed to review and accept the Terms of Service. 3. Once activated, you will be directed to build your website beginning with Verizon's Sitebuilder templates and continuing through steps beyond. Users are able to manage website maintenance and administration at »www.verizon.net/central/vzc.port···abel=pws after logging in. After your website has been built, you can view the contents by clicking on one of the links in the site management page. Look for "View My Web Site". Your website is visible to public visitors at »mysite.verizon.net/xxxxxxxx/, where xxxxxxxx is the account holder's 8-digit username created by Verizon. If you don't know that number, you will see it when you click "View My Web Site". Comments left by others in the past indicate Personal Web Space can only be managed through the Trellix system put in place by Verizon. In other words, you may not be able to create as robust a site as you might wish and you may have difficulties accessing the space through a conventional FTP client. For such advanced purposes, you may want to consider seeking a professional web hosting provider. But for some people, the Personal Web Space provided to Verizon subscribers works just fine, and you can't beat the price -- Free! Please note that Verizon may change features and the means to access them without notice. If the links provided here become stale, you should be able to access your Personal Web Space through a link in the Verizon Central portal. Please use the feedback link below only to suggest improvements to this FAQ. If you have questions about this FAQ, please post them in the Verizon DSL forum.
