An annual tradition, the Cherry Blossom Festival is a great time to embrace the comming of Spring.
The trees are commonly in bloom from late March to early April.
The Washington Post has a great printable pocket guide (in PDF format) available which includes a map of the Tidal Basin that points out great places to park. However parking is very limited, so visitors are encouraged to take Metro to the Smithsonian station via the Blue or Orange lines.
