[Help] SIM PIN Unlock question

Ok, I typed in the incorrect SIM PIN code 2 times (since I did not remember it) and I only have "1 attempt left".

Now, I managed to find my SIM PIN code and I got in.
But next time I reboot my phone, will it reset itself back to the default "3 attempts left"?

Or, will it be always "1 attempt left" even when rebooting or after powering ON the phone again?

Phone is a Samsung Galaxy S4 GTi9505.

Thx in advance!

[Help] Galaxy S4 Stock Android installation?

I have my Galaxy S4 being ordered from a GSM shop here in Europe but my question is, what do I do to get the stock Android on there once I have the phone? Do I need to do the whole ROOTING and the ClockWorkMod flashing ROM process? That was a huge pain for me and failed when I attempted to install 4.2.2 on my Motorola DEFY phone...I sure hope I wont have to do that process again.

Hopefully adding the stock Android would be as simple as just installing from the Google Play store as I once recall from reading at other forums.

Thanks!

Rooting a 4.2.1 Asus Transformer.

the The boot unlocker is available from ASUS itself, (as well as 4.2.1 for previous devices).... but then they got a bit tricky....

In 4.2.1 the Developer menu is hidden and needed to turn on USB debugging.

You have to go to the ABOUT settings page and tap on the build number listing like 7-10 times and then all of a sudden the Developer menu item shows up.

Too a long time Goggling to finally find out that fact.

Very straight forward for the TF700 with generic batch script rooters like Motochopper.. (probaably the best)

And if it doesn't work first time try running the ADB script before you run the Batch (Run) script. Even with the correct drivers WIN usually finds on its own (and seems to be communicating) sometimes necessary, because actually its only communicating one way. Happened to me on WINha8.... while others on earlier
no issue but still sometimes too.

The TF300 is a bit more tricky as there are boot loader change issues on that one and you need a patched unlocker. depending on where you are coming from. (OS State before you start)

There are variations for the 201 and original 101 too.... but generally the same.... bootloader unlock from from ASUS, and auto root scripts.... Motochopper probably best, that also installs the Super User access App and binary.

Mind you doing thins can void you warranty though can undone if you must return. Very little chance of bricking it just rooting, that possibily comes more when you get into custom ROM's and don't follow instruction carefully.
But now that ASUS has released the 4.2.1 stock ROM its even easy to go back to that should a warranty issue come up.And some previous too, if 4.2 isn't what your device would have been able to be OTA upgraded to.

http://www.xda-developers.com/ and searching the forums for (rooting dev/mod) is a wealth of information for all devices.

[Tablet] What to look for in a cheap tablet?

My apologies for such a broad question, but:

It's months away, but I am hoping I can buy an Android Tablet for my loved ones in the Philippines. I don't have a tablet, and admittedly, I am kind of an anti tablet kinda guy (give me a real computer!)

Anyways, it's uses:

#1 duty: Webcam Yahoo, skype, you name it chatting.

#2 duty: Reading books in formats including PDF (mostly).

#3 duty: Email.

#4 duty: Web surfing, including facebook, twitter, etcetera.

#5 duty: Listening to music.

#6 duty: Listening and watching streaming media.

Additional duties: I don't know of them yet, and my family there don't either, that is WHY I am posting here. All I know is that I want a Droid based tablet for less than 100 bucks with WIFI capability. I don't plan on getting cell service for it, not at this time.

A real keyboard might be nice for it.

It doesn't have to be big.

It doesn't have to be dazzling.

I'd like to know what the differences are between the different versions of android that are pertinent to this purchase AT this time IOW, what's the scoop on Android OS and it's revisions?

I'd like to have a power block for it that works with 220 VAC 60 Hz as well as 110 VAC 60 Hz.

It should have a mic and/or a mic plug and accept a headset.

Think cheap, I'm what you call poor. No, really.

OK I am ready to get another cellphone. I have been looking at the two Galaxy phones.
[Help] 2 SD Cards on S4???

I just bought a Samsung Galaxy S4 GTi9505 and I noticed something very odd and very confusing.
On my HTC Desire phone, I use ES File Explorer and it only has SD Card and of course the System files.

But, on the S4, it has two directories for the SD card which are: ExternalSD and SD Card

My personal data like my photos and documents are under the ExternalSD rather than under SD Card.

I noticed this on Airdroid app first and then on ES File Explorer.

So when saving my personal data onto my phone and whenever I buy a new phone in the future, all should be on the External SD card instead of the SD Card in case I have to swap those personal files and data onto that new phone???

See attached photo screen from Airdroid, and this is using my S4 phone. So you see, it has two SD cards. One External SD and the other SD Card.

So if I want to SAVE or BACKUP my personal data and my photos, should I store them under the ExternalSD folder?

Thx
