[Help] N600 DB Modem/Router (F9J1102) Connection Problems

Hi Guys

I'm trying to install a new modem/router (the above) and am having a few problems. The install seems to have gone fine and the firmware has been updated to the latest version. PCs/laptops/PS3s/phones can all connect to the router both wired and wirelessly. But the modem seems to be dropping its connection to the internet at regular intervals - sometimes every 15mins, other times less. The security log mentions "PPPoE disconnected" after which it reconnects.

Has anyone got an idiot proof list of what I should be checking? My old Netgear DG834PN does not have this problem at all so it really has to be the router rather than the line - at least that is my guess.

Thanks in advance.

Belkin N150 router lag problem.

I was having incredible problems after moving with internet connections.

I tried to play a game, and it lagged very often. Then I noticed if I try to remote into a neighboring machine on my wireless LAN using radmin, it froze for 3 seconds at a time every 20 seconds. This made me start to think it was a local problem.

I ran a line quality test. My DSL line has no packet loss and great latency.

I thought it was either the router or the wireless cards being used. I connected all the machines to a neighbor's wifi which was unsecured, that had much lower signal strength, and all of the problems went away. Games did not lag, printing shipping labels did not time out anymore, and using Radmin did not result in awful lag.

The problem has to be with the belkin N150. Are there any settings I should be aware of changing to make it work properly?

Thanks,

Belkin N900 Dual-Band Wireless Router

Just Pre-Ordered the Belkin N900 Dual-Band Wireless Router. The Belkin site pointed to Amazon for the pre-order.
Will return here and review once it arrives.
(and ask for a lot of help to use all the features).
Because - I have always depended on the kindness of others; knowing that everyone is ignorant, just in different subjects.

As others receive this unit, please contribute!

Belkin Play N600 + - one of the bands sometimes very slow

I'm experiencing serious slowdowns on the 2.4 GHz band of this dual-band router. Signal strength excellent (just 5 feet from router, for example) and then web pages don't load (browser stalls as if there were no internet connection). Restarting router fixes this.

On a computer that can connect using either 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz, when I get these slowdowns on 2.4, I switch over to 5 GHz and routing, streaming, etc. are fine....all on the same internet connection, without restarting anything.

I'd like to know if it's possible that the 2.4 GHz band is dying on me or if there is something I can do about it.

Thanks.

Adapter won't see 5GHz band - Play N600+

We have a laptop with as Atheros AR928X wireless adapter and a Belkin Play N600+ router.

The router has dual bands: 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz

Other computer can detect & run on both bands.

One ASUS laptop with the Atheros adapter can only pick up the 2.4 GHz band. It can run on that band either in 802.11 G or N mode and can get the N-type speeds (e.g., 132 Mbps) in N-mode.

However, we're having problems with our 2.4GHz band where routing gets very slow at times using any of the computers. (We'd like to fix that 2.4 GHz band, but put that on the back burner for now).

So we'd like to get this ASUS with the Atheros card to be able to connect on the 5GHz band as well.

Can it be done?
