[general] Wireless connection dropping after firmware update

I have a Zhone (Paradyne) 6218 I2 DSL modem. I performed a firmware update from 3.00.44 to 3.01.08 to take advantage of some new features, but since then, my laptop will not maintain a wireless connection to the 54G network.

My wireless connection utility shows the MAC address of the 6218 resetting to 00:00:00:00:00:00, and/or my signal moving from 100% to 0%. None of this was happening on the prior firmware version, but I would like to know what to look for to fix this without having to revert to an earlier version.

Thanks.

ST780WL not connecting after firmware upgrade.

I upgraded the firmware to 6.2.29.2 of my ST780WL Speedtouch and now it won't connect to the internet at all. I called the ISP (PRT DMAX) and they offered no help. I've tried just about everything I could think of, even asked them if there was something special that I should be doing, but they said I didn't have to put any kind of settings to connect to their service. Any help? =) pretty pleeease! Thanks =)

[general] Help me find a Modem or Router (or a combo)

ok I'm pretty fed up looking for this, and i KNOW it can be done (but im cheap and cant afford a cisco router for my home, nor do I remember IOS at all>.) I have speakeasy DSL, I have multiple IPs I am looking for a router, or a mocem/router combo (netopia perhaps) that supports multiple subnets going out different ips... ie i want 192.168.1.xxx to go out my.public.ip.1 and 192.168.0.xxx go out my.public.ip.2, and then also on a 3rd DMZ or such subnet my extra public ips and servers (web, email, dns, shell, etc (doesnt need firewalled) if this router/modem has wireless enabled taht would be best (i need one subnet to be wireless anyway in one box would be best) right now i have a couple switches and a wireless router, and a pfsense box handling all of this, keeping the switches is not a problem (so a 4port combo is ok) any help is greatly appreciated... (and yes i know that my.public.ip.1 isnt valid, but its just a demo)

performance & reliability - SpeedTouch 516 vs. 2Wire 2700HG

Hello my fellow nerds,

Ignoring cost, which of the following modems is better in terms of performance (speed) and reliability (no restarts, etc.)

SpeedTouch 516 or 2Wire 2700HG

I've heard good things from both, but never a direct comparison. I've tried looking at reviews with no luck.

I don't really care about features since I'm not that advanced of a user, and I have a Linksys router to take care of security and such anyway. I'm just looking for something solid (figuratively speaking... both routers are clearly physical solids).

Please advise.
