407etr Rip off

When I come in from the West on the 401, I jump into the collectors at the Dixie crossover.

Coming home late one night and I jumped over to what I thought was the same cutoff.. nope it was the 407, by the time I realized it, there was no way for me to backup to the 401 again. It was late and I was dog tired, and was cursing myself all the way to the next exit Mississauga road.

The bill came today. Talk about being ripped off, that short 5Km jaunt was billed at almost 8 bucks! So I called them, admitted it was my fault, honest mistake and asked them to forgive the bill. I was astounded, they did!

It never hurts to make a call folks, the answer could be in your favour.

No, I didn't. Honest... I ran out of gas. I... I had a flat tire. I didn't have enough money for cab fare. My tux didn't come back from the cleaners. An old friend came in from out of town. Someone stole my car. There was an earthquake.......

4 funerals since August

Last night I found out my Aunt Marg passed away. She was only 65 and died from liver cancer. She is the wife of my Dad's youngest brother. She was in the hospital the same time Mom was and later released from hospital as there was nothing that could be done for her... She passed away at home with her husband & son by her side....

In August Aunt Gertude (Buzzie) passed away. She was Mom's older sister. December 7th Mom passed away. Last week Carrie-Ann aged 40 passed away, she was aunt Buzzie's grand daughter. now Aunt Marg...

Damn I hate getting old not because I'm aging but because I spend so much time going to funerals of loved ones... When I was younger and foolish I used to curse weddings and baptisms, now I would gladly trade in my funeral visits for a wedding or baptism....

Enjoy your short stay on this earth, live for today and have no regrets...

Honda Hybrid Lawsuit: Heather Peters Wins $9,867 From Honda In Small Claims Court

A Southern California woman who challenged the legal status-quo by filing a small-claims action against Honda won her lawsuit Wednesday when a judge ruled that the automaker misled her about the potential fuel economy of her hybrid car.

Los Angeles Superior Court Commissioner Douglas Carnahan awarded Heather Peters $9,867 – much more than the couple hundred dollars cash that a proposed class-action settlement is offering.

11 killed when truck collides with van in Ontario

http://www.ctv.ca/CTVNews/TopStories/20120206/multiple-vehicle-accident-dead-stratford-ontario-120206/

quote:At least 11 people are dead following a two-vehicle crash northeast of Stratford, Ont.

The Ontario Provincial Police says a panel truck and a passenger van collided around 4:30 p.m. Monday at Perth Road 107 and Line 47 in Hampstead, Perth County.

Witnesses said the southbound truck hit the side of the white passenger van, which may have been carrying a group of migrant workers. The van was propelled into the side of a nearby house.

The truck driver and 10 people in the van are reportedly among the victims. CTV Southwestern Ontario reports that at least two survivors were rushed to hospital, one of them by air ambulance.

The intersection and roads in the area will be closed for several hours as OPP investigate. Police are expected to release more details about the crash this evening.

Developing story…

Wow, that is awful.
That truck must have been smoking along
