[Verizon] Verizon store makes changes to my plan-I've never been

Here's a good one. Going over my cell bill. Notice one of my daughters is doing more texting. Decide to add a text plan to our plan (doing it online). When I go to check, it shows there already is a text plan on her phone. Hmmm. I didn't put it there.

Call Verizon Wireless. Girl tells me it was added to my plan 2 weeks ago--at a Verizon Wireless store in Portland, Maine. I live in Kingston, NH, 2+ hours away. Never been to Portland. Neither has daughter. When I ask how a change could be made to my plan w/o my authorization girl has no explanation. Says maybe I could call store and see if anyone remembers doing it.

A little scary.

[AT&T] E71?

I'm SERIOUSLY considering buying an E71 in the next few days. Does anybody here have one? What do you think of it?

I know I could wait for the e72, but I spoke with Nokia this evening and they said AT LEAST Feb. Not waiting that long.

I have a bad rating, what prepaid is "best"

I have a bad credit rating. I've never owned a credit card, but have been through a lot of hardship over the years and was unable to pay some huge medical bills much to my shame. Anyways, I hope to go back to work in the next couple of years, God willing, and might choose to drive for a living.

Considering those two things, what prepaid plan is best?

Now I am under the impression that there are phones/plans that involved automatic withdrawls from one's credit/debit account, is that right? I saw a brief news story about Walmart having something new, their own phone system, and a store worker told me it uses both Verizon's AND ATT's cell towers. Is that true?

I have no idea where to start when I am ready to get a phone (roomate and I have been talking about me getting something, I had a Go Phone, but it went unfilled because at the time I didn't have the needed bucks to refill it and now I need a new simcard for it so it is worthless). I have to mention that the Go Phone plan seemed like a ripoff to me. They deducted a dollar for each day I used it, and to tell the truth, I only used the phone a few days a month, but it added up fast.

I don't even know if I am going to get something now or wait, it depends on what there is out there, to be honest, and it seems like every plan I've seen had some bad hitches to them...

[T-Mobile] How to Add HTC Keyboard to G1/MyTouch 3g

Like alot of people I thought the Android OnScreen Keyboard that came with 1.5 is pretty crappy, after some googling there actually is a way to install the MUCH better HTC Keyboard to your G1 or MyTouch 3G courtesy of our modder friend Cyanogen, I've installed this on my G1 running stock 1.6 Donut and it works great! There are a few things you'll need to do first before installing it.

1. Go to the market and download an app named "Linda File Manager"
2. Go to menu --> settings --> applications, and make sure you check the "Unknown Sources" checkbox.

The download link can be found on this page in the XDA Developer's Forum.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=567294

Do the following:

1) Mount your G1/MT3G to your PC and transfer the .apk file to your SD card
2) Open Linda and browse to your SD card and locate the HTC_IME.apk file
3) When it asks you what to use to run this file, select "Package Installer"
4) It will give you a warning message, forgot what it says, but click accept and it will begin installing, takes about a minute to install.
5) Go to menu --> settings --> locale & text, under text settings uncheck "Android Keyboard" and check the box labeled "Touch Input" it should give you another warning, click accept, and you're done!

By default the device vibrates on each keypress on the HTC keyboard, to disable this, go back to locale & text -->touch input settings --> text input --> and uncheck "vibrate when typing" under other settings. You also can change between compact qwerty, qwerty, and t9 layouts via the touch input settings under Locale & text

Go from this

to this :)

Enjoy!

:edit: Forgot it's not allowed to post direct download links, changed it to the link to the forum thread containing link. Thanks!

Reception question from cell phone newbie

I'm considering getting a cell phone for emergency type situations. I'm thinking about going with a prepaid plan with Page Plus or T-Mobile. My understanding is that Page Plus uses the Verizon network and T-Mobile has it's own network. How can I go about finding out which one provides the best reception in the areas I want to use the phone, so I know which one to go with? The only people I know who have cell phones use other networks. Is there a website that provides this kind of information, perhaps something with user reviews? I did find one website (cellreception.com) but it hasn't been as helpful as I would like.

Blackberry 8330

Hey all, I have a blackberry 8330 with the latest update of both the firmware and software(both on the phone and computer). My problem is that i did an update on my service via the service(it was required for all phones), and after that my internet browser did not show up on my phone. Also my gps does not work due to the fact that it tells me that i do not have that capability, yet my service plan includes internet and GPS. Could my problem be service related or just a malfunction?
