[CATV] What do I have to do to get Boomerang

When I originally left Knology for Charter, I left because Charter promised me that they offered Boomerang. Boomerang is offered by Charter, but not in my area. Knology has it, but Charter evidently doesn't see it as something that would help them compete. Boomerang is the channel with all of the old cartoons on it. What can I do to get this channel. I have requested it through the website and by calling the local office, but I actually want to believe that someone is working on this. :)

[HSI] I want answers because Charter LIED TO ME

Charter calls my house and offers HSI service and a couple weeks later when we call back to order it they tell us we can't get it because its not available where I live? I am sick of this. Why would they call my house, waste my time and get my hopes up telling me I can get something I really can't.

What should I do? Charter lied to me that is a fact. And even now given all this information about Charter never being able to give accurate answers I am still not sure if we can get HSI or not. Should I call them back? What more can I do?

charter telephone and centurytel

As of August, 2007 Charter has an agreement with Centurytel over offering Telephone in there areas in Michigan. So their excuse is now gone. I really want Charter telephone. The Michigan Public Services commitee OK'd the agreement in August of 2007. Does anyone have any idea when Charter will offer Telephone in the 48703 Area. I have heard that they have been offering Business telephone for quite awhile in my area. Thanks for any information any of you could shed on this question.

[HSI] False Advertising?

Some of you on Charter may have noticed that certain programs on your computer run better when using other networks...
I started out on Charter almost 2 years ago. I started out with a 3Mb package w/ basic tv. I never reached download speed over 1.5Mb. I called and complained over and over, until they offered to upgrade me to a 5Mb promotion to "fix" the problem, and even told me I'd save a few dollars doing so.
This service was no better, getting me only 3.5Mb/sec
Months later I'm back to complaining...so they upgrade me again...to a 10Mb package. I questioned this because I didn't think that the Motorola Surfboard 5100 they were supplying would handle the bandwidth. The tech assured me it would handle it just fine. I didn't trust the tech.(or any for that matter) so I called back, got a different tech, and told him of my recent upgrade, and that I wasn't getting anywhere near the "claimed" speed. He told me the modem wouldn't handle over 7Mb. and that a tech would be out to replace the modem. I now have an AMBIT which seems to work ok.
I run a simple peer to peer program, for downloading files, movies...whatever... IT WON'T WORK HERE! I travel to my girlfriend's on the other end of the state and use her ISP (Comcast) and the program FLIES!!! If I go down the road to the next town and use my laptop on ANY wireless router (firewalled or not)...that connects to ANYONE but Charter it works beautifully, even with a signal so weak I keep getting dropped! I reconnect and the 7-8Mb/sec downloads restart. I have NOT gotten ANY files through this program to download any faster than 908kb/sec in months!
Why is it that it works everywhere else and not here....Because Charter is using "Shapers" or limiters that determine what ports/protocols that users have access to.
Ask ANY of their "call in" techs what a UDP is and they won't have a clue! But they (Charter) know how to put limits on data transfers via protocol type. I've been FIGHTING with these jerks for almost 2 years. In my experience, they have the most incompetent idiots working the help desks. And getting to their supervisors is a hassle. Once you have a Supervisor on the line, you get to REPEAT your ENTIRE previous 15 minute Q/A all over again!
EXPECT "the problem is with your equipment" as a standard.
If you REALLY know what you're talking about, expect to be put on hold forever.
You WILL NOT get any straight answers from them because they "don't have the resources", or "you have been forwarded to the wrong department", or "We'll connect you now to that department.." only to be disconnected.
Most users don't even know when they are being blocked/limited until a specific need arises, and then no one will give you a strait answer.
If they EVER SAY they will follow up on your complaint...take names, and confirmation numbers, and DO NOT expect to EVER hear FROM them again. I've been all the way to CORPORATE twice with a verbal guarantee they'd follow up, but did they...HELL NO!
My Xbox performance SUCKS! (dropped, laggy, disconnected, poor overall performance) I have both the Original and the 360. I ALWAYS have to DMZ whichever one I use. or connect directly to the modem for them to work well, and even then the problems still occur. (example: stick a grenade to your opponent AND blast him point blank with a rocket launcher, and you are the only one killed????) Too much data is being filtered to the point of timeout or packet loss.
As you can see I have developed a very strong hate for Charter's business practises, their performance, and their pathetic attempt at customer service.
If you can avoid them: DO SO AT ANY COST

Charter DNS server in my area is vulnerable to exploit

I emailed charter, but it probably will take some time to make it through channels, if it gets there at all. So posting here in the hope someone from charter reads it.

Your name server, at 24.197.106.4, appears vulnerable to DNS Cache Poisoning.
All requests came from the following source port: 32884

Due to events outside our control, details of the vulnerability have been leaked. Please consider using a safe DNS server, such as OpenDNS
