Now My Land Line Is Out!

With all the squawking about Uverse, it's ironic that now my friggin land line is out! This has happened a couple of times over the last few years. DSL isOK, but no dial tone. It has to do with issues at the mushroom at the end of my block. Uverse hell - they can't even keep my land line up!

Tech supposed to be here sometime today - we'll see.

Holiday observations already...

So I managed to secure transportation back to the burbs for thanksgiving break. While I am always nervous turning on the radio and seeing what major changes have happened, I happened to notice that 93.9 was already playing Christmas music. I do not recall when they started before but I do not remember them starting before thanksgiving last year. While don't get me wrong, I do not mind a jingle bells or Rudolf the red nosed reindeer, it just seems way to early to me. Also... feel sorry for the poor DJs. Or what about the stores that play it and the employees who have to listen to it? I was at Binny's and thats all they were playing. Again, not that I hate it... just seems a bit early.

Also that leads me into a segue... while at Binny's I noticed our very own Goose Island has their "Mild Winter" out already. Their Christmas ale I was actually able to get as well, but they only had them in 22 oz bottles (bad thing?). I remember last year was impossible to find so I wanted to secure a few early while I could. Also, there was a nice selection of other brewer's holiday ales that I wanted to sample as well.
